Hello all,

I have an A8-3850 and can understand the overclocking on the CPU side, i have mine at 3.0 ghz instead the 2.9, however i like efficiency, and my CPU range from 800 Mhz to 3.0 ghz depending on Load.

I want to do the same thing for the internal IGP, its 282 mhz on idle, and 600 mhz on load, there is option in my motherboard (MSI a75a-g35) to specify the IGP frequency manually, and i did that, and set it to 700 mhz and boy it was sweet and just wat i need, however the GPU was always running that frequency after bios update (actually it was 685 Mhz for some reason).

Looking at CPU-Z my IGP have two P states:

Perf level 0

and

Perf level 1

on stock the :

Perf level 0 = 282 Mhz
Perf level 1 = 600 Mhz

Which makes sense!

On over clock from bios:

Perf level 0 = 700 Mhz
Perf level 1 = 700 Mhz

So the million dollar question is :

Is there utility which can make me adjust/tweak the Perf level 1, i have searched around and saw there is one for AMD CPU athlon cores, called K10Stat, but i want the IGP ?

Or another way to do it, basically i want to over clock but i want to keep the power saving on idle settings.

Thanks in advance.

the last three days i have seen a post a day about someone with a very mild overclock of the apu killing there processor. while the cpu side handles over clocks well apparently the same is not true of the APU. you may want to tread carefully.

Hi mate okay listen
Use AMD Overdrive you can overclock your CPU to 3.6GHz I have too AMD A8-3850 APU or do it from the BIOS by Multiplier.
GPU uses the RAM memory for work as Graphic memory in APU eg. if you will have 4 GB of RAM it will automatically share 512MB with GPU.\
So to use GPU at higher frequency overclock you memory go to BIOS and if your RAM is 1333Mhz try 1600Mhz if it is stable, do benchmarks, run games then go to 1866 Mhz.
And yes you can Achieve 3.6Ghz with your Stock Fan too it is stable at least for me.

I too tried to increase the frequency of the IGP in the BIOS but it will not do anything because it is dependent on the frequency of the RAM increase RAM frequency and set that frequency in the IGP option or choose it to Auto.
Thank you it will definitely work because I asked the same question before.
Have a nice day !
