Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). Location: on ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0096 (Microsoft).

This is the error in device manager that is really pissing me off. When I get the new drivers and repair, all the drives connected to those USB 3.0 ports work for about 5 seconds and then get disconnect again. If there is anyone who can help me with this problem then please reply. HELP!!!!!!!

1: Where are the USB 3.0 ports located? On the backboard, mid board extended ports, or PCI-e/PCI extension card?

2: Have you tried uninstalling the drivers (not repair), cleaning the registry and then re installing them again. I would recommend CCleaner for cleaning the registry, although I advise using the backup function when it is offered when you start.

3: Re installing windows might help, however this is of course cumbersome and annoying, so try this only as a last resort :)

4: Try and supply the motherboard/OS/USB 3.0 controller information to help diagnose the problem.

I have tried all that and the solution was using the windows8 repair function within the installation disk. It basically kept all my important data but does a fresh install of windows. Those registry cleaners are full or shit and just delete the broken link ect... Thanks for the suggestions though, it is very much appreciated.
