Kudos for typing this then :) ... I'm just kidding.

There are a whole lot of problems that could cause this. For Example:
- Driver corrupt/not installed
- Circuit damage (e.g. water or humidity)
- Broken connector, loose connector
- USB port being used needs a specific chipset/control chip driver, if not natively supported by windows.

Try and play around with the keyboard and see if you can give us more information to help diagnose the problem. Keyboard manufacturer/type/age might help, along with motherboard and OS information.
