Hi,

I'm looking to make my 1st ever build in the next week or so and was wondering what graphics card I should be picking. I will be gaming at 1080p and probs won't be doing anything else with it.

I can push my budget to a 7950 sapphire with boost at £240.
However I'm debating whether or not I want to step down to a Tahiti LE (the Sapphire 7870 XT) instead (at £200).

It will be a 3570k, Asrock extreme 4 build using a corsair CX600m PSU (not likely that I will need anything more right now)

I suppose my main question is:
Should I go for a more expensive card now? Or go for a PSU change and CF option in 2 years time?

Thanks.
Newbie :)

Yes, everything you have there would be good. For the video card, just go with the best thing that falls within your budget. The 7950 is a great card. You also have the option to easily OC it a bit for more performance. If you want to CF you will need to upgrade that PSU but I would just recommend sticking with a single GPU and upgrading it in the future if needed.

Personally, I would suggest you get the best GPU you can manage now because in two years time upgrading to a dual 7870 XT system may not be as easy as it would be now. GPU Technology changes pretty fast. The Radeon HD 8000 series is likely to be released by the end of this year and NVidia's GTX 700 series is likely to come out around that time as well. Depending on how much of a performance increase those provide it might be moot to upgrade to a Crossfire setup using two or more Radeon HD 7000 cards.
