I was looking at processors for my x79 build I'm working on and am having a hard time finding one that supports pcie 3.0... Are they not out or am I just blind?
technically no sandybridge-e cpu officially supports it. the board can be pcie 3.0 ready for when ivy bridge-e hits. now there is a patch to force it and it works but if you run SLI it causes stuttering so nvidia forces you back to 2.0

ok... any idea when ivy bridge-e will be out?
I may just wait and try to figure out what to do with my Big Bang-XPower II...
Why do you specifically need 3.0? Performance with current cards there is a very very small difference between 2.0 and 3.0 until you get high end cards in triple and quad SLI/Xfire configs.

I don't need it at this moment but was wanting this build to last a few years with future upgrading to be cheap and not require a lot of cash.
Thanks for the information!
