Hi, I have a problem with an XP Pro SP3 computer -
some old USB memory sticks that were connected to it previously will still connect ok, but when I try to connect any new memory sticks it says something like Found New Hardware - please wait while windows searches for drivers for USB Mass Storage Device. No matter how long I wait, it will never let me successfully connect the new USB memory sticks.
The new memory sticks work perfectly well on other computers including XP Pro SP3 machines. Something seems to have become corrupted in the problem computer - any ideas?

is the USB drive connected to the computer directly or via a USB hub?

have you tried to reinstall the chipset drivers?

The USB device is connected directly. No USB hubs or other USB devices are connected.
Not sure how to reinstall the chipset drivers?
