So i put my gtx560ti on sale, and a dude is willing to give me 160$ for it, now, should i just keep and eventually wait for the Gtx700/Radeon8000 series, or upgrade? I've looked on some cards and I think I'll buy the XfX Radeon HD 7870 Twincooler. Is that a good idea? Overall I'll pay a little under 100 bucks for the upgrade. Any advise is appreciated!:) (My budget is 3000$, but im not gonna buy a gtx690 or Ares II, just because it's the best! A price around 200-400 is what im thinking of.)

Sure a 7870 XT will play it (and should do well), but at what combination of resolution and graphics settings, I do not know. It sounds like you should keep your 560ti and then worry about an upgrade when more info comes out about BF4. I've heard sometime in Fall this year. That's about when the next gen of cards from Nvidia and AMD will come out. By then the 7000 and 600-series will be less expensive anyway.

Well do you need an upgrade? Getting $160 for the gtx560ti is a good deal for you. However, to make it more worth the upgrade, I'd go to a 7870 XT (originally called the 'LE' for some stupid reason). It'd be a three-tier jump instead of just a two-tier jump: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

Again, not knowing your preferences for gaming, you'll have to decide if you actually will notice a big enough difference to justify it. But usually the rule is a three-tier jump is preferable for an upgrade.

The 7870 XT is actually a 7950 that has some of its horsepower shaved off in order to accommodate a certain market niche. As such, the 7870 XT has a Tahiti GPU that was previously exclusive to the 79-- series cards.

In short, the XT is more powerful than an non-Xt version. I don't know what XT stands for though, I like to think of it as eXtra Tasty, just because. :))

I'm mostly looking for a gpu which can handle Battlefield 4? Is that the case, you think?
