I'm not sure how it happened. I don't know a thing about overclocking by the way, so forgive me for my ignorance. For anyone who may not know what OC Genie is, it is a button featured on some MSI boards that automatically overclocks when pressed.

I moved my SATA cables around, and when I booted the computer back up it said OC Genie was enabled. I never pressed the OC Genie button, but it is right next to the SATA connectors and must have been activated somehow when pressing down on the motherboard. My CPUs stock speed is 3.2ghz and is now at 3.6ghz. It's about 20 degrees hotter now, from as low as 36 degrees idle and as high as 46 degrees while browsing the internet. I don't game on it often and I have no desire to overclock. The problem is, I don't know how to stop. I went into the BIOS and couldn't figure out exactly what to do, and didn't want to risk screwing something up. I did choose to load optimized defaults, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Can anyone help?

Here are my specs...

Motherboard: MSI 870A-G55
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555
Memory: 4GB dual channel DDR3 RAM
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4600 series
Storage: Western Digital Black 500GB HDD
PSU: Corsair 430W

Thank you for replying so fast, sorry it took so long to get back to you.
What will that do exactly? I'm trying to get everything back to stock speed and voltage settings. Is there no other way I can do that in BIOS? Will taking out the battery have the same result?

Okay, I went into BIOS again and found where I can adjust the CPU voltages. I put everything that was overclocked back to auto, and everything seems to be like it used to be again. I don't think OC Genie overclocked my GPU or anything else, but I will update if new problems arise.
