Ok, so I just built a new computer and want to repurpose my ld one into the HTPC role. OLD set up HP Pavilion m5047c, Intel Q6600 quad core 2.4ghz, Asus IPIBL-LA mobo, 4 gigs of DDR2 memory (I added from the 3g that came stock), 300w PSU 500g HHD.
Now here is the question the stock GT8400 burned up (fan quit) and I would like the possibility to run WOW on it, (if i can get my wife to start playing again). What video card should I run? Looked at 630's and 440's but I dont know... I dont expect 100+ fps on ultra but med-low settings at a good 40-50 fps would be nice. Also would you overclock the CPU, or could I even do it with this mobo? what are your ideas? Thanks for your input everyone!

Solution

Yes provided you can spend little more, look for a 128bit GT440/GT630 1GB single slot. Thanks
Edit gt630 is NVidia rebranded gt440

now I like the price and features of the 630 card you posted, BUT, i can fit the duel slot card but the tv tuner card will be right on top of it. Will there be a problem of air flow to the GPU cooling fan?

Ok how about this, and the question is will a 6670 be bottlenecked by my cpu? Read the article that the 6670 is the best for the $60ish price range. I am going to replace the PSU with a XFX 550w so power is not really a issue anymore... Thanks in advance!
