Hi guys, I'm currently a student and looking at building a rig that will suit my needs. I've never built a full rig by myself before but understand the basics and will manage with help from a friend of mine. You could call it a working/gaming as I do a lot of video processing/editing at uni with HD formats and I also like to play games although not super keen on playing them on the very highest settings, just like to play them every now and again. I've got a budget of around £450 without needing to purchase an OS because I've already got one. Currently looking at the following parts all off Amazon:

Mobo: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0054U7HIO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

CPU: AMD FX-Series FX-8120 Black Edition Eight 3.1Ghz
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005UBNKZG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_7?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00761YFPW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3A9J89OE6W3SD

RAM: Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB) 1600Mhz DDR3
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CRSM4I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00461G3MS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

PSU: Corsair CXM 500w 80+ Bronze
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ALK1GFC/ref=gno_cart_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

DVD: LD 24x DVD-RW
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AG87YLY/ref=gno_cart_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Case: CiT Vantage Type-R
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0064LFTR8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

This all comes to a total of £448 exactly, although I'm aware prices do change now and again but not by that much. Also, I have a 1TB external HDD so space isn't a massive deal for the system itself because I store my work on an that and I also have an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro rev.2 cpu fan and paste so no need for more cooling. Just a couple of questions folk:

1. First and foremost, are all the parts compatible with each other e.g. mobo fit in case/processor fit on mobo along with card etc?

2. Are there cheaper parts on the market that offer the same, or more, 'bang for buck'?

Thanks guys!

Everything looks compatible. I would rather see a Vishera in place of a Bulldozer, though. The FX-81XX was a bit of a disappointment for gamers, anyway. An FX-82XX or the FX-6300 (Vishera) would be faster at gaming. The HD 7750 is OK if you game at resolutions below 1600x900. I can't tell from the description, but if the case has a top mount PSU, it will be more trouble with cable management than a bottom mount PSU would be. And harder to keep the system cool.
