First of all, I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong section, please move it if so.

So, as the title states, my computer is crashing when I run games and possibly other programs that demands a lot from my computer. I'll start with some back story.

First of all, I recently got my computer back from repair after a long time. They replaced the graphics card and the motherboard, and possibly other parts as I haven't really checked it out yet. I returned it to the manifacturer, so it should have been working now. Everything works fine, it was on all night to update software and drivers, download games and so on with no crashes, and the problems didn't start before this very morning.

The first game I ran was Far Cry 3, a very demanding game for my computer. The specs are good enough to run it, even with almost highest possible settings on everything. I didn't get longer than the first time you meet Vaz, where he talks to you while you're in the cage before it crashed for the first time. What happens is that the computer just freezes by sometimes getting a black screen, sometimes a black screen with weird lines and sometimes just a not responding monitor. First I thought it was Far Cry that was the problem, as it demands a lot from your computer, but then I tried other games like CS:S and Garry's Mod with the same crash happening.

Then I ran a CPU stress test putting both CPU usage and virtualy memory to 90-100%, and it still didn't crash.

SPECS:
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS
RAM: Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 6GB Kit
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
PSU: Chieftec Nitro Series BPS-650C 650W PSU
SSD: Corsair SSD Force Series 3, 60GB, SATA 6 Gb/s
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda® 7200.12 1TB SATA 6Gb/s

Thanks in advance,
Kimaz

As I recently got my computer back from repair, I have not done any overclocking yet. I do believe I have the latest drivers, but I will possibly try to reinstall them tomorrow when I got some time, 00:30AM in Norway atm! Will run a GPU stress test now, will come back shortly.

I did the GPU stress test and it didn't crash, here is some results and info.

Resolution: 1920x1080 (FS) - AA:0 samples
Max GPU Temp: 69°C
FPS: min:30, max:31, avg:29
3502 MHz

This is probably what I think aswell, yes. Also, the graphics card is kinda out-dated, so I should probably look into getting a new one. But I still want to solve the actual problem, incase I have to buy some other parts aswell. My motherboard is also very cheap and probably not so good, but I doubt that the motherboard has anything to do with this problem as it is brand new and they rarely have any major faults.

Ah, my parents own a small vacation apartment in Croatia, lovely country! But let's not get off-topic.

Next thing you can try is to run memtest during night to see if there are any problems.

Try to disable AV to see if Far Cry will run. It may be sound issue also or network driver. Disable those components and try to run it.

Because this is a common problem with 7870's, I won't buy the 7870, I'll go with the 660. At first I was going to buy a 7870, but when I saw hundreds of forums complaining that their 7870's have major issues like BSOD, I went for the 660.

I'm sorry for being a total idiot here, but how exactly do I disable these components?

Disabling the network adapter did not work, I'll try to disable AV now. Should I "disable" the graphics card aswell, or is that question as dumb as it sounds like?

I assume that question was as dumb as it sounded like. So, I should disable AMD HD Audio Device and Realtek HD Audio? My computer is in norwegian, so quite difficult to tell exactly what tab they're under!

Alright, going to give it a try now. Anything else you want me to disable if this doesn't work?

I assume you mean that I should plug my VGA cable into the motherboard instead of the graphics card? Atleast according to what I see.
