Built 2 new computers for myself and wife, and would like to keep the old computer upstairs and use it as a mass storage for us.
First question, since I am in need of updating my wireless router, I'd like one that has easy access to block certain websites and is a fast N. Seeking recommendations please.
Second question. How do I set that computer up to accept my computer and my wife's to store any file we want and retrieve it when needed?

I like to use FreeNAS. it is linux based and therefore uses very little overhead. It will also allow for remote access.

if you want to stay Windows based, all that is required is to enable File and Printer sharing on the old computer make sure all three computers are on the same workgoup, and share a folder or two.

this should help
