Hi guys im having overheating problems whit core 2 duo e7500 at stock speeds and stock fan. When the cpu is under 100% load for 2 minits it goes like 98-100 degrees celsius and i dont know will it change if i buy a new cpu cooler.

Solution
As it is a fairly old CPU then I suspect you haven't been putting some new thermal paste on it for a while, so the thermal paste might be old and dried it out, which gives bad temperatures.

Reapply the CPU heatsink and remember to remove old thermal paste, then apply new fresh quality thermal paste and then you should be good to go. :)

Yea its and old pc and the thermal paste is 3 years old i gues its that.Thx :)

Seriously though. Check airflow. Just because your thermal paste is dry, will not increase temps THAT much.

First make sure the CPU fan is spinning also download speedfan or something like it and see if the RPM of your CPU fan increases when there is a load on your CPU. If the fan is not spinning or the RPM of your fan dose not change then you may need a new cooler. If all that looks ok then you will need to purchase some thermal paste (Artic silver or other good quality paste), then remove the CPU heat sink and fan, give the Heat sink and fan a good clean with compressed air to blow out any dust and crud (do not use water). Remove the old thermal paste from the heat sink and CPU (look online for best method of cleaning off Thermal paste and use anti static band when inside your computer). Re apply thermal paste (Artic silver web site have good instruction of this). Then remount heat sink and fan then test again.

Hmmm open is not necessarily a good thing, is your CPU fan spinning at a decent rate?

I keep it open so my video card is cooler and the fan is spining at 1670 RPM at 40-55 degrees
