Hi, I want to get the maximum for mainboard socket 939 Abit AN8 Fatal1ty

1) what ATI card does it support for maximum ? 1 GB or 512 mb ? which model ?
2) what kind of SSD will support it and should I buy it for further pc
3) what Processor can I buy, except AMD Athlont 64 FX 60 for a decent price ?

If there is anything else I missed, excepting a 4 gb ram upgrade, please let me know.

I would appreciate very much your help !!! :)

Solution
OK.
1. You will not find any Socket 939 AM2 CPUs available to upgrade to. They have been out of production for years.
2. Any modern graphics card should work on it. But for such and old CPU, you will not see much of an improvement.
3. You will probably need to upgrade your Power supply too if you want a modern GPU.
4. DO NOT get an SSD on a SATA1 PC. HUGE waste of money.

My suggestion. Buy a computer from scratch and re-use components if possible(like the PSU or HDD)

Hi Novuake, thank you for your answer
1.I think there are cpu on sites like e-bay and I still take option for upgrade
2. should I try gpu of 512 mb or 1 gb ? I have 256 mb pci-express for now.
3. I have a Termaltake Source of 450w and it's fine for now, I think will support an GPU upgrade.
At least the GPU upgrade help, anyone ?

ssd/w7-w8 not xp

939 processor are cheap. if you can find an fx60 or a 4800/4400 dual core........??

reality......... spend money on an FM2 set up. it will be faster than what you have........ even the on board graphics will be faster. buy a W7 64bit OEM opsys to go with it.

With swifty and nov on this one. Don't even bother spending money on this system.

If you really do not want to spend money on a new system. An HD6670 or HD7750 is a good option.

best answer selected to Novuake. socket 939 is dead & buried, and an FX 60 doesn't worth 150$ + adding money to win e-bay licitation + transport + thermal solution + cooler + ...
and the power source is only 475w insufficient to put a decent card.
to rebuild it means to change everything excepting mainboard.
