Hi guys, I'm trying to update my jmicron jmb36x driver because its's apparently the cause of BSOD's but it's refusing to install. Quarter way through the installation I get an error message reading- "updatedriverforplugandplaydevices error" I could have downloaded the wrong driver from their website. I downloaded JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL. Here are my system specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
System Manufacturer Packard Bell
System Model ixtreme M5741
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz, 2668 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. P01-A4, 1/15/2010
SMBIOS Version 2.6
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7600.16385"
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 3.96 GB
Available Physical Memory 2.38 GB
Total Virtual Memory 9.90 GB
Available Virtual Memory 8.25 GB
Page File Space 5.94 GB

Before even knowing that I had to update this driver, whenever I switch on my pc, at startup I get a popup asking permission to allow xraidsetup.exe But it doesnt seem to do anything, whether I press YES or NO- Nothing happens.

Please help

Solution
You got the wrong version driver that is for win8. When you open the "release Note", you will see that, you need get the JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.63_WHQL or lower version.
