I want to install a graphic card to help take the pressure off my CPU/motherboard. I have a Emachine (Dell) T5022 with onboard graphics. Pent. 4 2.93ghz LGA775 socket 800mhz frnt sie bus...Memory pc3200 DDR2 ...915 chipset..I only have a slot for a PCI and NOT a PCIe. I am interested in using a video editing software so I an upload my home video's from DVD onto an xternal harddrive for storage. At this point I tried to use cyberlink 11 edit software but my puteris to slow for that so I my use an earlier versio like maybe #9 or some other softare (open to suggestions). In the fture I will probably need to rebuild this puter starting with a new motherbord, in order to edit and render these home movies . But for now I just want to be able to upload from the DVD. So what specs do I look for in a video card? Thank you!

From the Cyberlink site for minimum requirements to use their software Power Director #11. 128 MB VGA VRAM or higher (1 GB or higher VRAM and OpenCL capable are recommended). I don't know if I can get a PCI video card with these specs or better? If I can't, then maybe there is another software I can use to upload my DVD for storage onto the harddrive? I want to add a video card anyway to take a load off the CPU as well. Here is a drect link to the cyberlink pwr director minium requirements http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-requirements.do?ProductId=4&prodId=4&prodVerId=930....I found this on tigerdirect that I think my be able to use? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=28&sel=Detail%3B55_158_2872_2872,Detail%3B229_1173_48957_48957,Detail%3B236_1247_2731_2731,Detail%3B41_170_12847_12847

You mean no PCI card for the software? If so then is there at least a CI card I an use to plug in my small monitor and tak a load off my CPU/Motherboard?

Thank you for your reply. Tried a PCI card my neighbor had from an old puter. After I installed the card and drivers my taskbar disappeared along with the START. So I removed it and back where I started. Maybe I will either leave well enough alone or change the mother board and go from there.
