I am trying to install a second asus 660 ti. i hooked everything up and went to turn my computer on. everything started up and after 2 minutes it shut off and the screen is black. now neither card works together and separate. every few minutes the screen would turn red. need some help.

i was using a bridge. i did neither is working o there own even the one i had in prior to doing this. so i took both out and am using on board graphics so would that rule out the mother board?

No, that doesn't rule it out, as the PCI slot might have an issue./ What PSU model do you have, and what motherboard. You might not have enough power. If you have another PCIe slot available, try using that slot with the cards, maybe the initial PCIe slot closest to the CPU is faulty of just stopped working.

i have an 800 w PSU, so that should be enough. the asus 660 ti card i had in prior worked fine in the original slot so that should at least be working for a single card? is it possible i burnt the card out?

It's possible, but highly unlikely, if you did, it's the manufacturers fault. Whats the exact model of your motherboard though? I would try it in a second slot if you have one. When you plug in the cards do the fans turn on?

the mother bord is a asus z77 pro

yea they do.. so u think i should try putting a single card in the second pci slot.

Yes, it should still work, and that would rule out the GPU's being at fault if you get a signal.

Ok i switched pci slots and it worked..... What i don't understand is why out of now where did the original slot stop working as soon as i tried SLI? does this mean i need a new board and should i try to reset the mother board

Definitely try resetting it. Is the board under warranty? If it isn't and resetting doesn't work try contacting Asus and tell them your slot just died out of nowhere, they might be able to help you out.

i also just noticed this if i move my computer the slightest bit the screen goes red and then to black. i then have to turn the computer off and turn it back on, i then get a another red screen, so i unplugged the hdmi cable and plugged it back and it works fine this has happened 3 times in the past hour? that makes me think it could be the card

This is a unique issue. Do you have another HDMI cable you could try? could be as simple as that.
