I was using the overdrive utility to try and achieve a stable overclock before I biosed it in and I noticed as soon as the voltage to the CPU increased past 1.42 which is the threshold when it turns yellow, the multiplier drops down to 7x. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Fx-8350 Multiplier drops to 7x as soon as vcore is increased past 1.42! Help!

Do you have Cool N Quiet on, because 7X is the standard multiplier for the the 1.4 Gz low speed setting. As soon as you start to stress the processor it should pop right up to 20X. I am using Asus's AI suite ( M5A99X MB with 8350 ) which shows me that my processor is jumping back and forth between 7X and 20.5X ( small turbo boost over 20X ). If you are manually overclocking you might want to turn Cool N Quiet off, so that you won't have to see the smaller multipliers and your processor will stay at your intended target. Hope you have aftermarket cooling!
