MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 usb 3.0 driver problem

New build with Windows 7 BIOS v1.5. Device manager shows USB "drivers not installed". When I try to install the drivers this message appears: Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. AMD USB 3.0 Host Controller The system cannot find the specified file.

I've tried using the included system disc and the drivers from the AMD website.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

  1. Why are you using drivers from the AMD website? You should go to MSI and get the latest drivers for your board.
  2. USB 3 drivers should be on the driver disk included with the mb

    run them from there

and all the other mb drivers if you havent already
  3. I've tried using the disk included with the motherboard and the drivers from the AMD site getting the message listed above. The Windows 7-64 bit download from the MSI site yields the response that the drivers could not be found when I try to install through device manager.
  4. There is a new BIOS version out, might that help?
  5. Put the dvd in the drive and EXPLORE the file system

Find the USB 3 drivers . You might have to know the make of USB 3 chip on the mb .

Open that folder . Find the set up file . Click on it and run the installation
  6. Ended up having to use the Catalyst installation package. Couldn't get anything else to work.

Its not the catalyst driver is a unified driver for everything including the mb chipset and the USB3 chip [ obviously ]
