Had to replace the power jack on a Asus X73SV notebook with Win 7 64bit Home Premium OS. No problem in achieving this successfully.

However. on rebooting the computer everything works except I cannot now connect to my home network.
My Router is a Netcomm NB6Plus4W

On checking device manager all network adapters are working properly. When trouble shooting the problem the message displayed is "Network cable disconnected"

SOOO!!!. What does this indicate???
1. I haven't connected the appropriate cable into its socket?
If so where is it located on the MB so I can check as I believe I have correctly fitted all cables!
2. Something else is amiss? But what is it?

Over to you those who have greater understanding than a bloke who fiddles around but isn't really sure on what he is doing:-{{{{{}

OK, then the "Network cable disconnected" is not important in this case. That is only for a wired connection, hence "network cable".

You need to configure your wireless settings to access your wireless router. Can you see any networks in range?

Yes there is a password that I have generated, if that is what you mean. I have entered this but still no joy!!.
If this is not what you mean please provide me with more info so as I can determine whether this is appropriate in my circumstance. thanks

If you have set an encryption key, make sure every other setting is correct and matched the configuration you set up. If you can see the wireless network with a good signal, you haven't configured the network adapter properly.

The interesting thing is that before I stripped the computer down to do the job it was working fine connecting to the wireless network no probs. So when it failed to do so after the work it has thrown me completely as I felt that I did every thing correctly on reassembly and startup. I didn't do anything in the network area. This is what made me feel that I may not have connected a cable correctly on reassembly

Hi there again,
Have done some further investigation.
Opened control panel;
Opened network full map, displayed Wireless network 2;
Attempted to connect;
Entered security code;
Dialogue box came up,"The adapter is not connected."

On checking available networks found that the home wireless network is not showing.

I have shutdown the router and waited for five minutes before restarting but this did not make any difference.
Soo!! Where do I go from here?
Thanks for you valued assistance
