It's a little confusing. X79 is a good workstation platform but if games is your focus (with the rest coming second etc), then it's likely a more conventional platform is a better choice.

One thing that immediately jumps out is the RAM, why do you have both dual channel and quad channel kits? If it's a mistake, and you are just using the quad channel kit, that is fine. If it's not, then you are killing off any performance gains (and the point of buying a quad channel kit) as your 6 sticks will operate in dual channel mode.

With graphics, the GTX680 is a hard sell because of the affordability of the GTX670/HD7970.

ok .... first let me say this is a great build you have

but some suggestions i might give you :

if you plan to OC your cpu then you should get core i7 3930k < the K series helps you to overclock easily

RAM is not compatible with the processor because the i7 supports ram speed max. 1600 and your ram is 1866 , so when you turn on your pc the ram speed will drop to 1600 to work with cpu
so my advice is to get 16gb quad kit 1600 instead of 1866

other than that .... you have the perfect high-end built brother =D

CPU/mobo - I would either upgrade to i7-3930K or downgrade to i7-3770K, more likely i5-3570K, with Z77 motherboard. I recommend you downgrade, it'll save money and you won't notice the difference in performance.

Graphics Card - I've got to go with rammy, the GTX670 is ~£100 cheaper for barely less performance.

Memory - If you do downgrade to lga1155 go with dual channel kit, but if you decide to stick with lga2011 it's got to be quad channel. For your VMs, 16GB is a good starting point, you'll probably yearn for more.

Hard drive - for high performance I would avoid green anything.

i typed in two types of ram in order to let you choose if it is better to use two or four sticks
Thanks for the quick response

This is not true, it's an overclock setting which you can set in bios to get those speeds. I currently run 2133MHz in 2 systems, it runs at 2133MHz with my i5-3570K and 2080MHz with my i7-3930K.

thanks you man, but the 3930k which i will probably take, says to be capable of even 1866 ram speed up to 64gb is it true?

AMD FX-8350 ... BUT YOU WON'T GET THE SAME PERFORMANCE AS THE I7 .... STICK WITH IT[/quotemsg]

ok, so now with the changes you guys suggested the pc will be like this

i7 3930k
gtx 670
16gb quad kit 1600/1866

right?

Black is better and faster and longer warranty, 5 years, of course more expensive $/GB. But you'll want fast secondary HDD to install games and applications on, since you won't be able to fit everything inside 128GB SSD.

As for RAM, if you go Quad Channel and 4 DIMM, you'll have better chance going over 1600. I haven't been able to confirm 8 DIMM going over 1600 on X79 platform. Personal experience I can go 2133 just fine on 4x4GB DIMM, but only 1600 on 8x4GB DIMM. Might be compatibility issue, but I haven't bothered buying new set of RAM just to test it out.

thanks you for the new info bro i will stick with 4 sticks at 4gb per stick at 1866
i think it will work, now i want to know how to put the sticks because i think the mobo has 8 slots

If you are getting the P9X79, install ea. DIMM on the blue slots.
Just make sure read the manual.
