Hi there, wise forum users. Would be really nice if you guys could me give your opinions on this system which a local computer shop can built for me since I know nothing about components or hardware.

I would mainly use it to play first person shooters like the upcoming Bioshock: Infinite and of course Starcraft 2. Besides the normal web browsing etc of course

The system is:

BitFenex Prodigy ITX Casing
Xigmatek 600Watts PSU
Intel Quad Core i5 3470 3.20Ghz
Gigabyte H77n Wifi Motherboard
8GB 1333Mhz DDR3 System Memory
1TB SATA 6.0 Harddisk
24x DVDRW/CDRW
ASUS Radeon HD7850 2GB D5 Top

This cost about $800. My budget is about $1000. Should I upgrade anything? Or is this good enough?

Would really appreciate your opinions.

Thanks!

I guess you could upgrade your GPU if you have a spair $200..

ASUS Radeon HD7850 2GB D5 Top ---> Perhaps a 7970 DD.

It's a shame because you could save a lot of money on the whole rig if you was to build it yourself.

But all in all, it's a solid rig which will satisfy your gaming needs :)

Well if you can fit in a higher end GPU, say the 7950 or better, I would go with that. Personally I would build my own, but that is up to you. Your system that you have configured is pretty good and should last a while, it just would be a bit better if you could upgrade the GPU a bit. I'm not sure if that case will allow a bigger GPU or not, but it's worth checking into, if you want to spend the $.

OK that looks a pretty good build, just 2 things id add to it are as follows, ask them to upgrade the 7850 gpu to a 7870 gpu and also install a 128gb SSD as your OS drive, you should be able to do both those things and still bring it in on your $1000 budget.
