Hello, I'm Thomas2013, a normal gamer and fan of Fallout 3
I always watch Fallout 3, and saw many gamers playing it on windows 7
On that time I don't have the disk, but my gamer brain said "BUY IT"
and so I bought it, inserted the disk, installed it, then boom..

Before we continue, Just to let you know my specs:

Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS
RAM: 2GB

Now let's head on to my problem:

Every time I double click fallout3, shows a black screen, and I waited, suddenly something pops up saying, "FALLOUT3 HAS STOPPED WORKING"
I was like WHat.. DA.. FUCK?

Just to let you know what I've done:

1.Copy and Paste the D3d9.dll to my Fallout 3 folder.
2.I have Xlive and Games for Windows - Live 2.0 (( it's with the disk I bought)
3.I'm very sure my specs meets the system requirement of Fallout 3
4.Restarted a 1000 times
5.changed the ini. with the core thingy
6.deleted the intro, menu movie, sequence, on the ini.
7. deleted the intro vsk on the fallout 3\data\video

So yeah, this is the things I've done and my head is nearly gonna blow and I'm near to falcon punch my monitor...

So yeah, please I'm desperate, I'm a big big big ultra super fan of Fallout 3, (( I know I sound immature )) please, I beg you, reply with a working solution, I beg you, I will give you my copy of Skyrim and Oblivion, please...

Yours truly and desperate to play

NOTICE: I forgot my processor's name, but i'm sure, it meets the requirements of Fallout 3.. cuz it cost me 1.999 pesos...

If you are running a 7 year old vid card and 2 gigs of RAM, im just gonna guess, since you didnt put the rest of your system in there, is it is too old and or doesnt meet the requirements for Fallout 3. I havent looked at the reqs, but you are using some old gear.

Your hardware seems to be very outdated and that is the main problem. The only things I can recommend you other than getting new hardware is to update your components to the latest drivers, fully reinstall the game without changing anything in the files nor adding dll files and making sure to run the executable with administrative rights.

I assure you that my system is up-to-date and I just bought this computer, so it's new and clean, and not outdated, I'm looking for a direct and useful answer not hardware issue, I'm asking about Fallout 3 not hardware systems, I only want "Answers" not useless answers

You probably just needed to restart you computer if you were getting a d3dx9.dll error message. Otherwise, reinstall DirectX.

I had a similar message when trying to load Dead Space. Restarted and it was fine.

it is not your hardware as i used to play on a 7300le

download the latest direct x or use the one provided in the game cd dx9 to be precise

download and install the latest video card drivers for your 7900 from nvidia

if it still doesnt work uninstall the game and do a fresh install

Still nothing, I've done all of your solution, as I said, all my hardware is up-to-date, and reinstalled it 1000 times, and I'm nearly gonna falcon punch my computer if Fallout 3 doesn't work, I bought a up-to-date pc for Fallout 3, no games there, only Fallout 3, (( his private computer :D )) I'm really desperate..

Yes, I have DirectX 11, all computer has directx, without directx they can't play games, and also I already applied the fallout 3 patch which is 1.7, sorry for not including it, still nothing, and also, when I'm re-installing it, something pops up saying CRC Error, blah blah, i just clicked ignore and it continues the setup, I guess my fallout 3 installer is corrupt...

Hmm, so I guess your point to me is to buy a new Fallout 3 disk, am i right?

Anyway, I've already scheduled going to my favorite game shops after holy week in my country, which is on saturday, sunday or monday, anyway thanks, I guess my Fallout 3 disk is the error.. I'll update when I got my new installer and installed it..
