computer not starting with 1866 memory speed

my system specs are
i5 3450
asus p8b75m-lx
4gb corsair 1866mhz ram

my system run smoothly when memory clock is set to 1600mhz but when i change it to 1800mhz or 1866mhz in bios
the computer dosnt starts and after restarting it says overclocking failed please reset your setting
what am i doing wrong.
i am new to overclocking

Just from the way you've worded it, it sounds like you are just changing the frequency/speed of your RAM and nothing else. Your motherboard supports a high clock speed, so no problem there. Are you using an XMP profile to change the RAM settings? Verify that your RAM, per Corsair if in fact this is the correct part number, is running at not only 1866, but also timings of 9-10-9-27 at 1.5 volts.
