Hi Folks,

I've reviewing the site to build my very first gaming rig. I wanted to get the most for my buck for a gaming system that, hopefully, lasts about 7 years. The main purpose is for gaming (SC2, League of Legends, WoW and I'm looking into Bioshock & Skyrim - do not need to be on Ultra settings) and then I'll need to browser through the interwebs for work and to stream videos.

I originally started looking for a 600-700 build and after reviewing the forums, other people's builds and what not - I've found myself gravitating towards an 800 build. Based on the feedback for SSD - I believe I want instant boots.

I've posted a few times and I'm hoping this is the final build. I'm also deluding the fact that I will probably hit 1k on this but, I'd like the core system to be at least under 800?

Below is what I've compiled - I'm in NYC so, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there's a Microcenter within driving distance!

I also need an OS, keyboard & mouse - willing to take suggestions!

And I've been curious, do I need a sound card or do any of these components come with a standard sound system?

Initially, I don't plan to overclock because I think this should last me for a few years. When I need to overclock, I figure I can install a cooler later down the road (don't hesitate to let me know if this is the wrong approach).

I'd appreciate feedback to make sure the components are appropriate and makes sense and if it's possible to trim down on cost with a comparable component?

Thank you for reading!

Thanks Tenaciousk. Ok - so, I added a Cooler & upgraded the HD. I'm going to try to recycle the blue-ray player from my laptop.
