CPU /Motherboard compatibility

Last response: in Motherboards

Building a desktop (HTPC) and have a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 (rev 1.3) motherboard. I need to know if it will work with an Intel core i3-3225 processor. Gigabyte shows compatibility with the Ivy bridge (3rd gen) i5 and i7, co I'm hoping that because the i3-32225 wasn't release until 3rd or 4th quarter of 2012 that it just hasn't been added to the compatibility chart.... Could anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!!!

Not that specific one. However the Z68 chipset that the MB in question has is fully compatible with both the second and third Generation i-series processors. If anything you will just have to do a BIOS update.
