Hey all, First time I've posted on here and need help from the pros. After the PS4 announcement, I decided I just want to stay ahead of the game so I'm going to build myself a gaming rig! I purchased a 3570K so I can overclock it, but I'm completely lost as to what Mobo I should grab. I have decided on a 660 GTX TI aswell. I hear alot of talk about the AsRock extreme 4 but noticed my local Hardware shop doesn't carry Asrock, when I enquired further, they said "we found that AsRock products aren't up to our standards" They actually seemed sort of annoyed that I even asked so I don't really care about there comment. As the title suggests, I want to be able to overclock and play games like nobodies business, My Budget is around 200 but I would not mind staying under that if possible. Please, My good people, give suggestions, Help a gamer out!

The chipsets which will allow you to overclock your i5-3570K are P67, Z68 and Z77, the best and latest of these is the Z77. You could try and find out if your local shop stock any boards with these chipsets, but I would recommend going online.

In reply to you local shop's attitude to ASRock, they used to have a bad name for reliability but have came a long way and now build some very nice boards.

I'm not actually looking to do Business with them and would almost rather shop online (Canada) I'm open to any suggestions, I am however looking for Z77 USB 3.0 as well as PCI 3x

THanks!

I'll limit some of the choices by asking the following:

1. Max # of gpus do you plan to use?
2. Brand preference?
3. Amount you are relatively willing to spend? you said 200, but what you really want on a motherboard can also go to other parts for budget(e.g lower mobo budget, increase GPU budget)
4. Any color scheme you would like to be in?
5. Planning on using onboard fan headers? How many would you prefer and how many of them in 3pin/4pin
6. What case are you using
7. planning on oddly having alot of ssd/hdd?
8. Do you need thunderbolt
9. what kind of clocks do you relatively want?

THanks, I should mention that I would actually prefer to go online (canada), I just thought I'd check in with the local store to see what was around.

1. Right now, I only anticipate having 2, But for the immediate future just 1 to start me off.
2. I actually do have a Preference towards Asus, just because I have a tablet from them, and my current computer has an Asus motherboard that has lasted for like 6 years.
3. i'd say anywhere from 150- 200 is accurate, not really concerned about the budget for other parts. I'm pretty set on other parts
4. THe color doesn't much matter to me, But If black is a possibility that'd be great, I'm down with Blue too
5. Oh man, I'm a total noob, I dont even know what that is, but I want my Computer to be nice and cool
6. I was looking at some NZXT cases cause they look neat cool, but I also want alot of room to ram a bunch of stuff in later
7. I do want an SSD for the O/s and apps, But I want a 2 TB HDD for the games
8. I'm not sure what thunderbolt is, so probably not
9. I'd like to get it to a comfortable clock for the CPU, hopefully about 4.2.... I hear that's safe.
