I have a Samsung 840 250 GB SSD and a OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB SSD. Can i install these drives together? At the present I have Windows 7 pro 64 installed on a 500 GB HDD and 1TB HDD as backup. If the 2 SSD's will work together what would be the best setup for my system? Thanks in advance for all help rendered!!!

You should never raid non identical devices, it'll throw performance way down... anyway you won't notice the faster speed as an SSD is already fast (windows boot in 5-10 sec with all my startup items (about 20) and steam is ready to play too)

You can install as many ssd's in your pc as you have ports to plug thrm into. They are to your pc just amother hard drive, a really fast one maybe, but just another drive none the less.

Should I raid the ssd's. Never tried that but been reading a little on it. Would you go OS on the 128 or if in a raid setting does it matter? Thanks for the help.

I have similar. 2 x 128gb SSDs, A Kingston and a SanDisk. Install the OS and some critical programs on one (C), and other programs on the other SSD (E). Use the spinning disks (F, G) for mass storage.

An SSD is just another drive, but way faster.

OK, got to thanking about something I had read about the trim feature wouldn't work in a raid setting also...
I'm doing a clean install of the OS and I know I need to disconnect the HHD's ,so do I need to wait on connecting the 2 SSD untill OS is installed, and what drive would you put the OS on the 250 or the 128. I'm into gaming a little BF 3 and some Steam games as well.

i would install windows on the 128gb (it takes about 50-60 without programs) and then plug the second SSD, install all game, programs and then plug HDD for random stuff...

Z77 chipset now support TRIM with RAID but older chipset don't support it...
