Hello, I'm looking for a GPU for a new build. I'll be running two monitors, the 1080p for gaming and the smaller for general things like web browsing or monitoring the system in-game. I have a limit of $300 USD for a new GPU but I am unsure what I should buy with my monitor setup.

This is what I have so far for parts:

Case: Antec One
HDD: Sorted
PSU: Corsair E Series TX 750W
Monitor: AOC E2251SWDN 21.5" 1080p + Current 1440 x 900
CPU: i5-3570K
Mobo: GA-Z77X-UD3H
RAM: Corsair Vengence 2x4GB
GPU: HD7870 XT or GTX 670 (I was thinking I should get either of these originally).
Mouse: G500

Help is much appreciated.

The 7870XT/660ti should be good for 1080p Ultra in most games

The 7950 boost is about 10-15% faster and pretty much secures you in 1080p ultra in everything except metro and crysis3 which are insanely demanding (even the 7970ghz/680 will falter in crysis3)

none of my friends have issues with nvidia surround...but yes he is right it is first gen. and while my friends haven't i have read of other people having some issues.

The 670 is priced closer to the 7970 but performs a bit slower while the 7870XT is priced between an 660 and 660ti but performs like an 660ti

The performance is also pretty close for performance on the dollar

For 1080p the 7870XT is enough (second monitor might only drop your FPS 1% at most IMO)

The 7870GHZ/7870 is 10% slower than the 7870XT(priced slightly above 7870ghz) which is 1-2% slower than 7950 which is 10% slower than the 7950 boost (priced the same as the normal 7950 right now)

There is no benefit for going 3gb of VRAM yet for 1080p

7870XT is the best price performer on the market IMO. And would be your best bet in that price range. On the Nvidia side, the GTX 660 is beast and I enjoyed it while I had it. Price discrepancy between the 7870xt and 670 is also too much IMO to consider the 670. Cheers.
