Windows 8 mail, gmail want connect

I have problem connecting windows 8 mail app with my gmail account and I tried everything there is to be tried anyone has the same issue?

"Unable to connect. Ensure the information you've entered is correct"

I am sure I am entering the right password and username please help!

I doubt it. I use the Windows Live mail client and it works with gmail just fine. Then again Microsoft even dropped DVD support for windows media player under windows 8, so it would not surprise me if they locked out gmail from their email client.

It worked perfectly before and as I see on the internet many people have the same problem and many solved this.
