Your cooler will be fine, but the mobo has a little bit poor VRM,there is no cooler on the FETs so it's not the best mobo for OC.I've got an ASRock 970 Extreme3 mobo with FX-6300 successfully OC-ed to 4.00 GHz with 1.3625V core voltage. In other forums people didn't advised the ASRock 970 mobos for FX-8xxx CPU-s ,because there is less chance of OC.WHen you OC turn off APM and TurboCore, then increase the score and if needed the core voltage. Then test the stability with Prime95 and LinX ;)

Hi Heny, I looked at that link, because I'm considering an AMD setup for overclock experimentation regarding the FX line and it's amazing how many of the top of the line motherboards are no longer stocked in the listing.

thank you Ryan has been seen and assessed although it from others, and to overclock my AMD motherboard just based on the reviews and the average 8 +2 power phase, with adequate heatsink .. and I'm not done with that mobo with 4 +1 power phase .. results are less than satisfactory
