What is the best way to overclock my EVGA GTX 550ti 2 gb?

I am wanting to get a little more out of my graphics card. I havent overclocked anything on my computer. Just seems like it isnt doing want I expected. This is my set up.

EVGA GTX 550ti 2gb
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX
BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

I am using 1080 resloution on my tv. Maybe I should overclock my mobo 2? I am new at this and would like some help. I just have fans that are built on the graphics card and pc case total 4 fans.

uhhhh, features and compatibility between ALL ur parts (RAM speed and amount supported, pci e version and ports, sata ports w/ RAID capability, OC features) the most important thing you can look at is popularity and rating. i like using newegg's # of ratings sort or just asking people on here. there are like 3-4 mobo's that are most commonly recommended.

just OC the graphics card and the CPU. google articles for doing both BEFORE even downloading any OC software. Use EVGA precision for the GTX 550 Ti. Change settings in the mobo bios for the CPU. Google arcicles for both to see what numbers people are getting, and then mess around a little. JUST be careful!!!! otherwise you may fry your parts out of warranty.

Thanks for the info again. I overclocked my GTX last night with no problems. Now the CPU is another story, didnt find alot on my current board. I am guessing that the BIOSTAR doesnt have alot of options when it comes to overclocking since I coudnt find any info on it. After reasearching last night, seems INTEL is where I need to be. Any thoughts on that?

it's the higher end boards that have all the voltage options. I really like the options my ASRock has. ASUS boards are pretty good to, but when u look into boards, look at the amount of reviews, OC features included, and what the reviews say about ability to OC. I made the mistake of getting a low end board my 1st build...

Can I ask you another question. What is the most important thing to look at when buying a new modo? I know you have to make sure it fits an AMD or Intel depending on your CPU. Whatelse makes an good modo? So many options just wanna learn as much as I can.
