So, it looks like my motherboard and/or CPU is fried ( http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1635832/psu-blew-replaced-restart-mobo-dead.html ). Rather than build a new computer, it might make sense to just swap out the motherboard and/or CPU, right?
Looks like they still sell the i7 920 (for $400! seems like a ripoff), but they don't make the P6T6 ( http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6T6_WS_Revolution/ ) anymore. So, would I be able to find a suitable replacement? Looks like I'm looking for something with a LGA1366 and the X58 chipset. Is that all I have to worry about? Do they even make similar motherboards now, 3 years after I bought the original?
