Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum, so if I've posted in the wrong area, please forgive me. I'm running WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit, with Intel I7 processor and Nvidia Quadro graphics on a home built PC. After 3 years of happy computing, my mb has failed (Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R) and I'm replacing it with an Asus P6X58e-WS which is the nearest compatiblle board I could find available. (I'm awaiting delivery of the board now). My main concern is that on my old system, I had two x 1tb hdds raided (RAID 0) on the Marvel 9128 controller on the old mb. This RAID volume holds data which I really do not want to lose. I chose the new board because it also has the (same?) Marvel 9128 Sata 6 controller, and what I want to really know is, if I plug my old raided volumes into the new board, using the Marvel 9128 controller, is it likely that the data still be available through the new controller, or am I going to lose the data? Will I have to create a new RAID array (which will lose the data) or will the new mb recognise the existing array (assuming that I set the Marvel Controller to RAID 0 on installation)? Any helpful suggestions will be welcome!

It's try and see. Theoretically, it should work since it's a similar controller.
I guess you have no possibility to make a backup, since the old board doesn't work.
Theoretically it should work also on an Intel controller, if an Intel SATA driver had been installed and the driver is compatible with the board's Intel controller. But it's only in theory.

Thanks, but I wish! - It's the marvell raid controller that's failed (failing) on the old mb! Before I started to dismantle the pc I did try, and Win7 did eventually (10 mins or so) find the raided drive letter but could not display size or disk content. I did a fresh win install just in case it was an issue with os - l also reinstalled mb drivers etc, but no success!

The OS is on an entirely separate ssd - but Il can only get a safe boot because of the problems with the motherboard.
I haven't tried the Intel Sata ports because (1) I didn't want to risk possibly damaging the array using by a different controller and 2) all the Intel sata ports are connected to other drives. The RAID volume holds raw HD video (the ONLY copy) - because Premiere CS6 wants a raid 0 volume for video capture. The raw footage is no longer on my camera - hence the panic! Edited/finished video is stored elsewhere on a non-raid HDD (as a backup!).I've just been caught out with this one - by a matter of hours! I would have finished the edit very shortly!

Here's what I would try, assuming that the Intel SATA driver is installed on the SSD.
Install this Microsoft fix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976/en
Shut down, power off, connect the two Intel drives to the Intel SATA ports (no damage to the array, as long as you don't configure it using Ctrl+I).
Restart and set SATA to RAID in BIOS. Save and restart, do not press Ctrl+I.
If the system boots from the SSD, the RAID array should be visible.
