shut down win 7 not working

Please try opening a command prompt:
Windows key, type cmd, enter
On the command prompt, type:
shutdown -s
If that doesn't work, try a forced shutdown:
shutdown -s -f
Windows key, type cmd, enter

Have you got your issue resolved?
I am having issues with shut-down the power. It's never fully closing the systems, seems to be crashing at the end as black screen stays on all the time. I need to force it down and then when I boot it up I get a message saying that the system was closed in the wrong way.
I have changed a setting in the registry "PowerDownAfterShutdown" to 1 and that seam to have helped for shutdown, but still crashing whn trying to let it sleep or hibernate.
Any ideas? I have read plenty of articles and not able to find a solution.
