I changed internet provider, printer doesn't work. Installed new printer, and also tried to add new IP address by control panel/internet options/connections/lan settings/uncheck automatically dectect settings and then checked/use a proxy server for your lan it would then not allow me to the internet or printer would not work. I rebooted both printer and computer. I am not very savvy but trying to solve problem. Any step by step would be appreciated. My IT guy charges 125.00 to come on Monday so trying to solve this before then.

Its a Canon MX860. It is supposed to be wireless but I connected to the wall just to make sure.

What IP address does your printer have?
What IP address does your router have?

They need to be on the same subnet, along with your PC.
