I have two Nexus LED D12SL case fans installed on Chassis ports 1 and 2 powered by an AsusP8Z77 V LK motherboard.
On start up today, once the OS (Windows 8) began to load, these two case fans lost about half their RPM, down from about 950 to 400, and the blue LED's in both fans became very dim and were even flickering somewhat. I have no clue how to troubleshoot this. I was under the impression that Nexus fans were the cream of the crop, so to me, having two Nexus fans fail simultaneously, or two chassis ports on a motherboard fail simultaneously, would seem pretty ridiculous.
