WoW PC, trying to reduce the cost as much as possible!

Hey there! I have a friend that asked me to build him a PC for World of Warcraft. Requirements are good fps on good graphics. All he does is PvP (arena mostly) so no need for 25m adjustments! OK to the point, this is the build I have come up with staying as low on budget as possible, also using a spare GTS450 I will soon have lying around. SO:
CPU: Intel i5 3330 3Ghz - Local store, 175E
Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4-M - Local store, 105E
PSU: Corsair VS Series 450W - Local store, 45E
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB - Local store, 63E
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - Local store, 73E
Optical Drive: Really can't remember, some optical drive for 20E off a local store.
Case: CoolerMaster Elite 310 - Local store, 47E ( This one was tough! It's overpriced compared to other international stores but hell, it's the prettiest and sturdiest non-random-chinese case I could find for the LIMITED budget I have... )

Total: 528E incl. shipping.

I would like to note that these prices are not the best, but they are definetely somewhat close to the real prices and if not, the scaling is accurate. So if you wanna compare some of my pieces to the ones in your area, or Newegg or whatever, just use your store's price ! Hope I was helpful enough for you to understand my issue! If you have any questions go on, shoot!

Thanks in advance!

P.S.
If the 450GTS won't work, please tell me! Though my pc played very well with this card and the Q6600. Ultra at around 50 fps. And knowing wow is CPU based game, the i5 3330 will probably be more than fine. (?)

Since WoW is CPU based, I'd recommend getting like a FX 6130...

Thanks for your response. To be honest, I haven't gone deep into AMD to know how things are going there though rumours say intel performs way better in World of Warcraft. Even though I wanna stay "budget", I don't want to sacrifice much performance. Is FX 6130 better than i5 3330?

The 450GTS will be your major bottleneck in the system.

It doesn't hurt to try it. You can always add a better card later when budget permits. My advice would be an HD7770 for this build. I doubt I could find benchmarks to easily compare the two cards as the 450GTS is old now but the difference should be significant.

You can Google for CPU comparisons. It's also going to vary significantly between games.

Keep in mind your bottleneck is going to be mainly your GRAPHICS CARD anyway.

Alright will both try with the GTS and keep your warnings/recommendations in mind! What about the rest of the system? Is it good bang for buck?
Thanks a lot!

i5 will destroy even an FX-8350 in WoW (as that review shows) so just forget about AMD.

No point spending a lot on a Z77 with that CPU (you can't overclock it). Save some money and get a H77 motherboard instead.

As long as he doesn't mind not having full Ultra settings, the GPU should run it alright. You can always change it out if there's an issue.

I also agree with this, a B75 or H77 board (whichever is cheaper in your area) will be just as good as the z77.

The 450 is a bit old but it should run it just fine if WoW still looks like a 5 year olds playdough figures...

I got a EVGA GTS 450 FPB and I can test if its playable... Sadly I cant test it right now lol..

Also theres this beta game called Smite and it's like WoW's graphic but is based/inspired by DotA. I can max the setting and get 64fps but in a fight it's around 45-55 fps, I'm playing on 1920x1200... I'm pretty sure your 450 can run WoW at least 30fps+.

@marshallbradley Roger that for i5s vs AMD. That's the same thing I was thinking. This specific Z77 board is not hugely more expensive compared to some H77 or B75 one and I admit that when I'm building PCs for other people, I truely think that the PC is being made for me! So in this case what I was having in mind is upgradability ( possibly to an i7 3770k ) which then WOULD be overclocked. Then again... I'm sure that the only thing he will ever play will be WoW so even in this case IF a CPU upgrade was needed for whatever reason he could hit a locked multiplier processor, run it on stock and still be fine. ( i7 3770? )So yeah.. Truth is I can save over 40E from this Z77 board, though please confirm my "thoughts" being on the right track!

@burritobob Regarding the board, I covered this over there ^ :D  As for the GPU, yes, that's how WoW still is! That's how it is intended to be and doubt it will ever change since, in the current way, it can be pretty much be played on ANY pc :p

@legendkiller Interesting facts on Smite, mate. Whenever, and if you can do it, give it a test and hit that message button it would be of great help!

All in all, I'm pretty sure what you guys said is valid, regarding the playability with this GPU. It will probably run fine since my computer runs with this card at around 40-60 fps on Ultra in HD. Lower that to High or even Medium settings and add the by-far-superior i5 3330 (compared to Q6600 quad old man) and it will probably be more than fine :)

Thanks for all responses, best forum I've been to! Planning to help myself too, once I'm done with my exams which don't give me much time to spend on this ! Anything that we've missed, that someone has noticed, please feel free to add it or message me!
Cya around guys!
