I am trying to install Windows 7 onto an IBM Xseries 226 8648-2by Server. When I get to the driver section I cannot see the SCSI drives I have created. I have tried to load the Ultra320 64-bit SCSI Drivers v 7.00.00.12 for Windows 7 and Server 2008R2 but it still does not work. I have tried to install Windows XP the same way with the correct XP driver but still no joy.

Can anyone help?

Searching for the server, i found this support page:http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/sdd?key=5179626&osKey=&brand=5000008#5350951
There seams to be a different driver version for the build-in SCSI-controller. Beside that there could be a second controller for the disk, fiber channel for example. You say you have created disks. Did you create a raid set and volumes on that or only the raid set? Windows will only see the volumes, not the raid set itself.

I have tried 2 70G SCSI in a RAID 0 and RAID 1 config. Both with no joy

I created both a RAID 0 and 1 config but had no joy. When I created the RAIDs it just asked what RAID I wanted to create there was no mention about set or volumes.

I have the up to date drive already installed and loaded IAW the instructions but I still have no joy. The Drives are being detected as correct within the BIOS just not seen within the OS set up. Also during the set up of the RAID (or anywhere else in the RAID Config) there is nothing about setting the volume up.
