Hi there, as this is my first build i'm a little confused. please help me out with processor and motherboard selection.
I'll be overclocking it a bit till 4ghz with a proper after market cooler i.e Hyper 212 EVO,
I want my PC for Gaming at 1920*1080 at highest settings & a little bit of rendering in 3Ds max, maya, after effects & premiere e.t.c
My budget for whole PC is around 1200$
at first i selected the i5-3570K but as i read reviews it's not good for rendering it's only good for gaming and i7-3770k will be best for gaming & rendering, and as the new haswell chips are also coming should i wait for it?
Please also suggest other components.
and as i live in india some brands are not availabe here. :(

A 3770k isn't bad. I would probably look into an FX 8350 so you could throw more into a better GPU than your budget would allow with the i7. FX 8350 is a decent and very capable gaming chip. It does well in highly threaded workloads as well. It's gaming performance would be a bit below a 3570k @ stock but would beat the 3570k in programs that are more heavily threaded.

But i don't like AMD i've had many bad past experiences from the same.
Suggest me a build using I7-3770k in my budget :D  :)

Well, if your budget is modest, the i7-3770k is going to eat up most of your budget, leaving your GPU for rendering underpowered, making the build pointless...

For half the money it costs to buy the i7-3770k you can get the FX-8350, and it will actually outperform the i7-3770k in the rendering department.

Can you give us any sources, references, reviews, etc. that confirm your statement? I've been Googling for the past thirty minutes and have come up with nothing.

The benchmarks I've found show the FX-8350 competitive in 3DS and Cinebench...

Especially when you OC.

There's a lot of OC'ed benchmarks in this thread:

For those not OC'ing...the FX-8350 is competitive with the i7 in rendering...the FX-8350 really shines in the Rendering section of 3ds, while the physics portion tends to favor intel. When you balance them out, the i7 comes out just ahead at stock speeds on combined score.
