The System is HP Compaq Presario SG3340IL
it s 1GB RAM But i ve just added another 1gb to it
pls give me step by step instruction to overclocking it
I need at least a 2.8ghz speed thats enough for me to play games
please also tell if overclocking will not kill my computer atleast for 2years
because i dont want this trashcan .no games playayable , a256vram ******
system .Im planning on getting a new set assembled
Im sorry for asking too many question but could you say a system with following specs on low budget
Any processor at 3.00ghz or over enough to play games
at least 4gb ram
a 2gb graphics card

Most likely you cannot overclock that system. Overclocking is a function of the motherboard, and most system builders do not integrate that functionality into the mass-produced systems, particularly the low-end ones not designed for gaming. I tried finding a BIOS simulation or screenshots for this model to be sure, but could not find one; you can verify whether overclocking is possible by booting into your system BIOS (typically F2 at the Compaq screen when you turn it on, but it should say what key to hit to enter the BIOS when you're looking at that) and checking to see if there are any settings that allow you to modify the CPU multiplier.

I will be extremely surprised if there are. I don't think you'll be overclocking this system.

I had that same cpu in my 2008 Dell Vostro 200, and I was able to successfully overclock it with the BSEL pin mod. This fools the motherboard into thinking the cpu runs on a 266 mhz bus instead of the default 200 mhz, which results in the stock 1.8 ghz speed bumping up to 2.4 ghz. I've come across a few motherboards that won't post with this mod, but its easily reversible. And, most boards do work, even brand name like my Dell. Here's the procedure:

As radioactivate suggested, you can physically change the multiplier and voltage on the processor. It's not something I'd do or suggest doing, and I don't know how comfortable you'd be with doing this (you'd have to be pretty careful to not damage the CPU), but it's certainly possible.
