missing a little thermal paste on i5 3570k

Doing my first build and managed to dab off a little thermal paste while unpacking the stock cooler. Maybe a quarter-inch square ended up on the band-aid on my finger, instead of on the cooler.

I installed it anyway, but now I'm wondering if I should repaste the damned thing before finishing up the build.

No plans to ever OC, if that matters. Have had the system on only to POST it.

I would not worry about. Once you get the computer up and running, download core temp. Its a tiny portable program for checking temps. run it while you are doing stuff. If the temp goes above 55-60 you might want to get new paste.

i5s run cool so I don't think you need to worry.

So, you spent the extra money to specifically get an Unlocked version of a processor, and yet you have no intentions of overclocking?
If you have removed enough thermal paste to require repasting, you might as well buy a cooler such as the Hyper 212 EVO, and some aftermarket paste. ($25 combined)

Basic overclocking, getting the i5 3570k to 4.2Ghz takes literally 15 seconds to do, and poses no danger.

Well, first things first. I'll do what the others suggest, and check out the heat situation. I went with the k version just because it was a good package deal with the mobo. Later, who knows? In the fullness of time, maybe I'll be tempted to overclock. Good to know it's not hard if I ever decide to go that route. Thanks for the advice, everyone.
