(4x4gb) or (2x8gb) for gaming?

Which of these two would be better for a gaming rig?

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133

Or

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866

I'd go with 2x4, honestly. For gaming, 16GB is WAY overkill - 4 is enough, and 8 is the sweet spot.

(Unless you can use quad-channel memory for some reason, in which case 4x2 is what you want.)
