Just wonder if anyone has used this program. `ClockGen`.. Seems to work fine according to `cpu-z. I ordered a new PC from cyberpower yesterday, but I have the old `Brisbane AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+` still running. Gonna over-clock it up a bit but dont wanna over do it. Any advice would be gr8.

edog what would be the reason not to use the software to oc my pc.. is it personnal preference, or is there a negative experience involved? I have a new cyberpower pc on its way but for the time being... i have the side panel off and a floor fan goin` (temp)

When you get your new system, don't use software to overclock.

Use bios for these reason:

More control
Software may cause undesirable results
You don't need to keep messing with the software all the time if it crashes such as if the overclock crashes your PC
There are now BIOS with easy to use GUI so you can do things easier than ever
You can fine tune settings in BIOS
ETC

Software overclocking is just stupid to do when you can do it better in the BIOS.

Hi :)

On a motherboard that OLD he may NOT even have any overclocking options in the bios...

All the best Brett :)

I am talking when he is getting his new system to not use software, like I said.

Hi Guys,

I'm using a DELL T3400 for my HTPC and the bios is totally locked down to overclocking. So i'm thinking of going down the software route.

I've nothing to lose really - the machine is just something to play around with.

How far could I push the 2.6ghz processor if I had some sort of awesome water cooling?
