New Build, looking for some advice thanks

Hey,

So I was thinking of building the following Desktop PC (first time). was just wondering if im on the right lines for a good system, im looking for a Desktop which can play all the new games at good quality including FPS on a 24inch possibly bigger screen. I also use Autocad, revit and Photoshop

OS= Windows 7 64bit (from old HDD)
CPU = AMD Phenom II X4 965 - 3.4 Ghz AM3 Black Edition
Motherboard = Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, Up to 16GB DDR3, USB 3.0, uATX)
RAM = Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Two Module Kit
HDD = (Old)500gb laptop sata drive 5400rpm (ive bought desktop adapters)
GPU = Sapphire 11200-07-20G Graphics Card (2GB, HD7850, GDDR5)
or
Asus Radeon HD 7770 DirectCU Graphics Card (1GB GDDR5
PSU = Alpine 650W Quiet Silent PC Power Supply PSU 120mm Fan
Case = CiT Saturn Miditower (with 2 fans side and front)

Given the specs Above would i be able to play COD, Bioshock infinite,Assassins creed 3 etc and on what settings
Is my cooling sufficent given the fans in case could i possibly OC and is it advised

Oc using case fans alone is not advised however an am3/am3+ slot cooler should do the trick

anyway what budget are you looking at? the fx8120 could be closer to what you want unless you are gunning for under $400 for easy overclocking and great results i say the fx8120.
first gpu looks solid. better performance than gtx650 and should do the COD Bioshock assasins creed nicely with med/high settings but ONLY if the processor is up to it. stock, neither the one you said nor the fx8120 could take these games to medium but with a simple overclock it would be great. read up on overclocking first, but done right there is little to no risk and a free(ish) performance gain...

That PSU is junk. Get one from Antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic. 500w will be plenty.

If you get the 7850 those games will run at high settings. (newer games would be med/high mix)
If you get the 7770, it will be medium/high. (newer games would be medium)


You need an aftermarket CPU cooler if you want to overclock.

This seems like a great build you should definitely be able to get close or even max these games without to much of a problem. None of them are truly that graphic intensive compared to what we have today. The only thing I would look into is the 650Ti Boost which may or may not be faster than the 7850, it all depends on drivers and updates really. Just a thought, but yeah you should be good to go. Also with stock fans I would never overclock a CPU, you will need and aftermarket cooler.

Apparently Tiny doesn't know who manufactures what in the PSU biz, the PSU is fine...

I definitely agree with the aftermarket cooler if you want to overclock.

Again the 650Ti Boost may be what you're looking for... (I hardly recommend nvidia cards) this is simply a great performer for the price compared to a 7850...

My bad posted thet by accident, yeh i was kinda being stingy with the PSU does it really make a diffrence overall to justify a 4 times price increase, also max settings on games is ideal carnt wait to start putting it together :)
