Hi,

I opened my h100i and i am not sure if I touched it or what, but there is a spot that got smudged up (Pic: http://imgur.com/BmSh6A8). I have heard that this themal paste is good (not sure if this is true), but I am not sure if it is ok to use it when it is not completely even. Am I better off using the smudged h100i paste or Cooler Master ThermalFusion 400 paste.

On a side note, which direction should the fans be mounted (mounted on top/intake, mounted on top/blowing out, mounted on bottom /intake, or mounted on bottom/ blowing out.)

Thanks,
Avery

The main spot on the cpu that needs cooling is in the center and a one inch circle around it, so a smudge on the outer part is not too bad and you can try to smooth it out with a thin piece of plastic like a credit card. You can if you want remove that thermal compound and replace it with the CM thermal fusion if you want to.
If you mount the radiator on the rear fan opening then you would mount the fan on the radiator so it's blowing out of the case through the radiator. If your mounting the radiator at the top of the case then you attach the fan so it's blowing through the radiator and out of the case.
