i currently have quite an old computer and theres not much i can do with it, cant even play videos in full screen or it starts working as loud as a vacuum cleaner. i was wondering if i could make this pile of garbage into a good cpu somehow because i dont really wanna buy a new computer D: ( my main concern was would my motherboard be able to run it if i installed some kind of a graphics card)

My processor is intel pentium D CPU 2.80 GHz, 4gb ram (3.24 usable)

32 bit operating system

Mainboard is a dell default mainboard, model 0HJ054

I would like to make this into a computer that can run games like Aion because currently all i can get is max of around 15 FPS

Sorry if i made any typing mistakes.

You never posted a budget (there is no way in hell you're going to be only at $300 since it's $90 alone for windows 7).

I'd say look for something about these costs.
i3-3xxx- $110
motherboard (LGA 1155)- $60 (any board that's got decent features, you don't need to overclock).
Memory 2x4GB (prices have skyrocketed recently)- $45 (look for deals with the CPU you can normally get it cheaper).
GPU- I wouldn't go lower than a 7770 but if you have the budget go up to a 7790 or 7850. $110 minimum
PSU- $40 (Corsair CX430)
Windows 7- $90
HDD- $50 (your computer is so old it has to have a small capacity and you can get a 500GB for that price).
If you really want you can reuse the case and CD/DVD drive (just make sure it's a SATA CD Drive and not...

The only thing i recommend you doing is to start from scratch. The reason behind this is that your motherboard will be outdated. i.e. the cpu socket will not be able to support the latest cpus.
So long as you have the peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse), a decent gaming computer can cost around $300. Look around the forums and you'll find what youre looking for.

edit: @andrewcarr how do you know i was/n't including windows?
You could save 50 and go for a pentium g860. Depending on his monitor, i was thinking a a10-5800k.

Thanks both of you for your quick response. Guess ill build a new computed using this case then because its not as expensive as i though to build a decent computer :)
