hey guys
can i use my old amd phenom 9950 black edition of 125 watts on a motherboard with 95watts tdp[Biostar A780LB Motherboard]

That sounds dangerous. If the motherboard says it only supports up to 95W tdp processors, and doesn't specifically list that cpu model as supported, using a 125W tdp processor with it is likely to damage the cpu, the board, or both, even if the socket is compatible with the cpu pins.

No you can't. Your motherboard is designed for 8 amps of current through CPU socket, and CPU you want to use can require 10-11 amps at some point. So don't go there, don't use it, don't over exceed manufacturers spces ever. Like MauveCloud said, you'll damage your board, cpu, psu. Don't do that.

You could try underclocking & under volting it but you don't really know by how much. If you already have it and you don't care that much if you fry the board you could try it. My brother unlocked an Athlon to a Phenom x4 on a board that doesn't support its watts when unlocked, the motherboard temps run fairly hot but it works.
