Should I wait for the 700 series GPU's?

Hey guys!
This is my build:
I5-3570K OC @ 4.5Ghz
Maximus V
GTX 680
Corsair Vengeance 2x8 1600Mhz ram

I am thinking of waiting for the 700 series so I can compete and beat next gen consoles.
Approximately how much will the 780 be at release?
Thanks.

You have an upgrade path today with the $1000 GTX690 or Titan.
If you are running on a single 1080P monitor, it is probably not worth it.
For triple monitor gaming, then better graphics will help.

To answer your question, we would have to know what performance category the GTX7xx falls into.
If the card is a top end card, capable of beating a Titan or GTX690, then expect to pay a premium price for it, perhaps that same $1000. I somewhat doubt that, since that would require a smaller manufacturing technology to make it a reasonable cost/effective product.

More likely, I speculate that we will see a GTX780 card in the $600 price range.

That's what I've decided to do. Expect the 700's to run about the same as the 600's did when they were first released.

I'm getting a new case and dropping a second GTX 260 to run SLI to hold me over (moreso the desire to fiddle with my machine on the cheap ($50 for GPU, $80-100 for case) than to increase performance) while I save and wait for Haswell and the 700 series.

My plan is to get the 4670k and eventually run dual 770's. With the rate at which I upgrade (only when I absolutely have to or can't pass on a deal), that should hold me over for the next 10 years.

yeah, ur PC is fast and ur GPU is currently in the top 3 for fastest single GPU. The next gen consoles will be slow 8 core CPU's and mid to mid-high grade graphics of the current generation. you have NOTHING to worry about.

the consoles only have the advantage that everything being made for them will be written and coded to take advantage of the hexcore processor that it has. so games will run better on that then you would think, but no matter what, you will still easily overpower them.

personally, i have two 560TIs 2GB editions in SLI and for the moeny it would cost me to upgrade and actually see improvement, not to mention the fact that i can play almost anything at max settings right now, ive decided that i would be best to wait for the 700 series, jsut because spending 600$+ right now, and getting some improvement, or waiting till 700 series and spending 800$+ for immense increase in performance... i figure im good for now.

Thanks 4 that guys! How much do you guys think the 780 will be at release. I assume it will have the same price as the 680 was at release. How much was the 680 last year in may?
