Hi!
I wanna know how to deal with the GPU-drivers while installing new graphics card.
My system config :-
mobo = ASUS M4A88T-M LE
cpu = AMD Phenom2 X2-555be
Ram = corsair XMS4gb
hdd = WD 500Gb
PSU = Cooler Master Thunder 500W
monitor = DELL ST2320L
OS = windows7 ultimate

(to be installed GPU) = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121660

***********
Till date am using the on-board GPU. Now I want to install a graphics card & bought the above mentioned card.
I don't know whether I should delete the existing ATI chipset drivers & then install the graphics card OR
install the graphics card directly without removing the existing drivers..
OR just the right way to install the graphics card.
TY :)

No actually your CPU will bottoleneck the Graphics card in most of the recent games,

Hence its best to go for GTX650Ti or HD7850 lineup.

These are still decent Direct X 11 cards for modern games and can play high Graphics setting even @ 1080p.

Edit: Thanks now that you mention you already got 660
Dont worry little CPU overclock might be benifitial to you if your GPU isnt at its full potential, Im sure if google theres some guide to help.

Don't delete anything dude, especially not chipset. Onboard GPU has nothing to do with PCI-E GPU. Just plug it in and roll. Maybe you'll need to set PCI-E priority in BIOS but that's all.

Drivers will only interfiere with each other when loaded at the same time. You can have ton of video drivers in your system and if only one is loaded at the time (this is your case) nothing will happen and that's a fact :).

Why it's best to sweep? Even if he is changing PCI-E card with another one but he is not. He is putting PCI-E card on motherboard with AMD chipset whoose iGPU he used before. Please explain because maybe i'm missing something.

TY guys for all your help!!!

I finished installation. System is working fine :)
Did change the settings in BIOS, First priority to PCIe ....
Only the ASUS utilities ATI Catalyst & GTU Nos are popping messages as the GPU selected doesn't match with em. I guess I can delete em as they won't be needed as of now. Correct me if I must keep em.
Also I need to run a game or 2 n see the performance diff..

NO, I've not unlocked the other cores, have tried it though. Just not sure if the Stock heat sink of 555be can handle core unlocking.
Can it?
Reply pls!

No, it can't cause any errors. No way. .dll? Do you know what handles dll's? What's triggering them? I am really trying to make a point here and trying to make clear something so next time would not be this kind of missunderstandings, and someone who is seeking help would see incorect conclusions.

This are facts. (talking about healhy OS and we all know that faulty ones can create all sorts of trouble)

There is no possbile way for drivers that are not loaded at the same time to conflict each other, even with loaded one's at the same time is so small chance that is not worth of mentioning it.

1. Diff - vendor ID's (one part of driver)
2. Diff - deveice ID's (other part of driver)
3. Diff - registry key (those two up are responsible so it would stay diff)

So. Why you can't tell AMD card to install NVIDIA drivers? Because drivers contain product information.

So why would NVIDIA card had any problems with ATI drivers installed?

It won't.

guys m getting good FPS in games.
1 Thing am able to observe in my comp is that the RAM is still getting shared. As my GPU has 2Gb of memory I don't want that sharing. How to change it?
Also about removing the ATI drivers, which software is good?
I shall try Core Unlocking some other time, I've read the steps for doing same in the manual.
How to Stress Test? (without much risk)
